State of Illinois Behavioral Health System Design
Speaker: Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, national prevalence rates indicated 1 in 5 people will experience a mental illness during their lifetime and approximately 1 in 12 will struggle with substance use. In addition, approximately 17% of children aged 3-17 have at least one Intellectual/Developmental Disability (IDD). Mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities have life-long effects that impact individuals, families, healthcare systems, and communities.
