Executive Director

David Coe has served as the Executive Director of Colonial Behavioral Health since 2007, serving the Virginia counties of James City and York, as well as the cities of Williamsburg and Poquoson. Before coming to the Historic Triangle in 2004, he was employed as Executive Director of the Family Resource Center in Wytheville, VA, and of the Patrick Henry Drug & Alcohol Council in Martinsville VA. From 1993 until 2004 he served as the Clinical Director for Piedmont Community Services, also in Martinsville. He has been and continues to be a member of numerous state committees and work groups. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the National Association of County Behavioral Health & Developmental Disability Directors (NACBHDD) Board of Directors, of which he has been a member since 2013. He also serves on the Integrated Care Committee as part of the Virginia Council on Primary Care. He and his wife of 40 years (Susan) reside in Toano, Virginia.
